I was sick of all the big time HVAC companies upselling me every time I needed a service or repair, so when I called Astronaut for help and Dalai came out on short notice on a Sunday afternoon (!) in August (!!) to diagnose my problem, I was impressed. He was knowledgeable and helpful and, when a second opinion for a unit repair/replacement came in at similar or higher prices, I chose Astronaut. Dalai's customer service and communications were excellent, the unit was installed when promised, and the overall cost was several thousand dollars cheaper than the "usual suspects." And when I requested a tweak to the initial set-up, Dalai came out quickly and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. The Only HVAC Team I Trust in Austin – Highly Recommended! I have hired Dalai from Astronaut Cooling & Heating twice now for my rental properties in Austin, and he is officially my go-to HVAC professional.The first time I used him, he did a fantastic job with a comprehensive system inspection, meticulously cleaning out our AC outdoor condensers and the indoor return box to keep the system running efficiently.Most recently, I had an issue with a multi-zone Carrier system at a property where the downstairs air completely stopped blowing. Instead of playing corporate upsell games or pushing me to buy expensive, unnecessary parts, Dalai gave a completely honest diagnostic. He tracked the issue down to a physically stuck zone damper door, lubricated the assembly, adjusted the stop limits, and had it running perfectly for just his standard, fair diagnostic fee.Right after he left, a minor airflow balance issue popped up with the other zone. When I called him, he immediately offered to drive back out to verify his work and fix it for free. Fortunately, the system balanced itself out over the evening and didn't need the return visit, but his willingness to immediately back up his work was incredible. It is very hard to find an HVAC contractor with this level of honesty, technical skill, and customer service. If you are a homeowner or a landlord in the Austin area, do yourself a favor and call Astronaut Cooling & Heating!

Dalai from Astronaut Cooling & Heating was absolutely amazing. He showed up on time and kept working until I had cool air in the house again. If you’re looking for a company that sends out their C-team, sets 20-minute timers, or tries to upsell you on everything, Astronaut Heating and Air is not for you. But if you want an extremely knowledgeable person who’s willing to work until the problem is diagnosed, and who will ONLY charge you for what you actually need, Dalai and Astronaut Cooling & Heating is the team for you! I’ve already started spreading their name around at work. I could not be happier with the work they did.
